Distance Learning from Rigour Maths

Dear parents and carers,

In these truly unprecedented times the Rigour Maths team want to do everything in our power to ensure your child continues to progress through their Broad General Education. Worry not, home learning is what we do! Your child's school will be providing an excellent Home Learning program but, in addition, feel free to use our services to ensure the Numeracy and Mathematics is well and truly ticking over. Little and often has always been our approach to developing skills. And during this period we are providing;

  1. Seven CfE calendars providing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Level, Nat 4 Maths, Nat 5 Maths and Higher Maths pupils a #DailyQuestion, EVERY DAY EVERY MONTH. Pupils of course are welcome to try as many of these questions as they want!
  2. Corresponding video lessons on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Level, Nat 4 Maths, Nat 5 Maths and Higher Maths #DailyQuestions. If you couldn't answer a question, now is the ideal time to complete a lesson on it. These lessons are designed to take approximately 20 minutes.
  3. The Daily Rigour, a WEEKLY Numeracy Newspaper, providing problems in context based on the current news of the week. An ideal resource to sit down as a family and solve together!
  4. A FREE months access to our Online Learning Platform so parents will have access to our FULL maths curriculum to keep young people learning. Each Level (2nd, 3rd, 4th, National 5 Maths and Higher) has hundreds of video lessons, worksheets and assessments available to use. Sign up at the bottom of this page.

Good luck and take care during this period of home learning. Please feel free to message us on Facebook (Rigour Maths) or Twitter (@cdmasterworks) to share with us how you are getting on. We would be delighted to hear from you.

The Rigour Maths team.

What does a good home learning exercise look like?

All Maths and Numeracy lessons should have a title, the date, all worked examples/notes copied down and the questions answered with diagrams, working and units where appropriate. If you are attempting these lessons, here is an example of what an effective home learning exercise should look like. Click on the image to enlarge it.

Sign up for one months FREE access

This is a difficult one for us as we are a very small business. Clearly we want to help every family but we also have overheads to pay like everyone else. So for this reason we want to offer EVERY parent and carer 6 weeks completely FREE access to our online platform to support their child/children. To sign up, please fill out the simple form below. Use your name, not your child's but please include the name of their school or your form will be rejected. When your month is up, we will delete all your personal data within 2 days.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our subscribers as, without you, we would not have a business to support young people in their numeracy and mathematics. We love you all.
